Ovarian Cancer Complications  

Because ovarian cancer is often diagnosed at an advanced stage, it often subject to the following complications: 

• progressive loss of function  of various organs 
• accumulation of fluid in the abdomen 
• bowel obstruction (also known as intestinal obstruction)  
• Metastases: spread of the tumor in to other organs such as abdomen, uterus, urinary bladder, bowel, and/or rarely lungs.
