Non Small Cell Lung Cancer Complications

Non small cell lung cancer is often subject to complications. Even after treatment, fluid can accumulate in the chest (pleural effusion) and prevents you from breathing normally. The cancer can also obstruct the airways, which increases the risk of respiratory infections like bronchitis or pneumonia. In addition, Non small cell lung cancer can spread into to other parts of the body to form metastases. Most often, the metastases are formed in the bone, brain or liver. Once in these organs, the tumors can cause:

  • bone disease
  • neurological disorder
  • liver problems
  • Death.
