Jim Kelly is Free of Cancer According to the Latest Medical Update

Douglassville GA, 08-22-2014 : Great news for the family and fans of Jim Kelly! The news has come out this week from the New York Head & Neck Institute at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan. The physician of the Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly told the press last Wednesday that they could not find any trace of tumor in Kelly’s body from the latest physical exam.

Kelly seems to have won the battle over his sinus cancer that was affecting his life. Surrounded by family, the Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly announced back in March his second fight with the recurrent cancer. He was undergoing treatment ever since, and the news came last Wednesday he has won the battle.

"Jim Kelly was evaluated yesterday at the New York Head & Neck Institute at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, three months after having completed the radiation and chemotherapy protocol designed to treat his recurrent sinus cancer. Dr. Peter Constantino, Executive Director of the Institute, stated that, 'The treatments so far have completely eliminated Mr. Kelly's pain, and his level of function has essentially returned to normal. Further, on physical examination, there is no evidence of the cancer.'

"Over the coming week, a series of tests will be performed to determine if any further treatment will be necessary. Constantino added, 'It is possible that no further treatment will be required, and the testing over the next week will define this issue.'"

Earlier this month, ESPN aired a piece, documenting Kelly's fight against cancer.

"We have come away from our checkup visit in NYC encouraged and hopeful. Preliminary scan results have necessitated the need for biopsies to be done in order to confirm what we hope to be true...that the cancer has been eradicated. We will not know the outcome until this procedure is completed. And so... We continue to PRAY, rejoice, live...wait and trust GOD who holds ALL things together. God, who is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End and every moment in between. In the midst of it all, I know He's got this. Thank you for praying! Thank you for holding us up during this time. We are so grateful for you! "
