Basal Cell
Carcinoma Complications
Basal cell
carcinoma is the most common type of skin cancer; nevertheless, it rarely causes complications. However, if left
untreated or poorly treated, it can give rise to metastases. Certain forms of basal cell carcinoma can become
very dilapidated and invade nearby muscles, nerves and bone. In addition, although controversial, basal cell
carcinoma can increase the risk of developing squamous cell carcinoma or malignant melanoma.
